Water is Basic is committed to providing clean water – one of the most basic and essential resources on Earth – by empowering local Sudanese nationals. The relationships of the Sudanese in their local communities and everyone’s conscientious stewardship of donor funds have allowed us to drill more than 200 clean wells providing water to 400,000 Sudanese at an average cost of just $3,600 over the past 4 years.
While the weather changes, politics change and the cost at each well varies, we have bound ourselves to the Sudanese and assisting them in their efforts to provide clean water in their own communities. Water is such a plentiful resource for most of us that it is challenging to imagine the difference water in their health, education and safety. What is simple is our mission – empowering Sudanese to provide and sustain clean water as cost effectively and efficiently as possible. If you think we’re accomplishing that mission and you’d like to join us, check out how others like you have made a difference.
