To the ever growing family of WIB supporters.
Since Thanksgiving 2009 the two hard working drilling crews in Sudan have drilled just over 125 new bore holes.
I could tell you about the efficiencies of drilling with local crews but, to be honest, I know you already get that.
I could tell you about how clean and simple and smooth the entire organization is but I know you already get that as well.
What you need to know about is well #219 just completed at the Erap Police Training compound. WIB has twice facilitated simple small police training workshops. Now there is a compound where 500 new police officers are being trained to help keep the peace. It wouldn’t be possible without clean water.
Or well #124 completed in April. We drove more than three hours to go only 18 kilometers. We drove past teak and bamboo forests; grass twice the height of our vehicle and potholes that swallowed us whole. Here in the deep bush where more than 10,000 hid during the war, a new well is bringing the village back together. Now kids stay in school and businesses can operate and hope for the future is renewed.
The rainy season is now over and a rig is headed 700 miles north to Southern Darfur State for those who dread the dry season. Tensions are high leading up to the January 9th referendum but local circumstances do not deter a local crew. Water Is Basic continues on…with your help.
As you review the things you are thankful for this season I know what we are accomplishing together at WIB is top on your list.
I know that you are too to the people of Sudan.
You will get many opportunities to invest this year-end and I pray that you will continue to invest in the people of Sudan. Why not bring along some friends this year too?
$350,000 made those 125 wells happen this last year…and next year too…
with your continued help.
Thank you
The entire WIB Team
