Today I want to share a letter with you that we received from Bishop Elias Taban, our main “make-it-happen” guy in Sudan. It is incredible not only that the Sudanese people are bringing clean water to themselves through Water is Basic (something unheard of in Africa), but that through the physical gift of water people’s souls are being transformed. Also, you can now text the word WATER to 313131 to get updates on your phone every time a new well is drilled. How cool!
Now I will stop typing and let Taban tell you about the work being accomplished through your support. Thank you so much.
Blessings,
Steven Harrell
Dear Brethren;
We had a blessed day today. I, John Olendo and Pastor Emanuel of the Sudan Pentecostal Churches were able to Officially open the water well at ECS Dinka Congregation in Yei; men, women and Children were saying prayers of thanksgiving in tears; we ended up praying for 10 sick people who came and fell on their knees for us to pray for their healing; I asked John Olendo and Pastor Emanuel Guya to lead us in the prayers. Gathering to celebrate opening of water lead us to pray for even healing of the sick; late this evening the Anglican Pastor in charge of the congregation, Rev. John Chol, called me and said over 50 people came to him and confessed Christ as their Lord and Savior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a blessing came alongside clean water.
As we continue to celebrate water wells many sick people will be healed and souls won to Christ. Our WIB Sudan Project Manager, Mr. John Olendo, was real amazed with what he saw today and this has made him to forget the tiredness of driving for over 1,000 kilometers from Kenya to Sudan. He arrived just yesterday and today joined the rest of the WIB team in the celebration; he arrived safely with a very excellent 4 X 4 truck for the project adding more to our joy.
Attending the Celebration came Church leaders from 5 different denominations as follows:
1. ECS [ Anglican Church ]
2. SPC [ Sudan Pentecostal Church ]
3. EPC [ Evangelical Presbyterian Church ]
4. GAC [ Gospel Apostolic Church ]
5. RCC [ Roman Catholic Church ]
Glory be to God!
Bishop Elias Taban.
