Water is BasicMarch 3, 2010 3/2 - Photo of the WeekFrom refugee camps to crowded bomas, rural bore holes to city centers, there are two ubiquitous sounds at every well site I visited - the squeaking of the pump handle and the sounds of children laughing. During my short time at the orphanage in Lora, I was overcome by the joy on the faces of the children. With nearly 100 orphans, the water pump is going almost non-stop - but the hard work (and it's really hard work) doesn't feel like a chore to them or break their smiles.
