Maya Teams

Maya is the arabic word for 100 & is the perfect way for your company, church or organization to make a big impact in Sudan. For every 100 person team, Water is Basic will complete one well in Sudan & your team will get stories & pictures showing the difference they made.

Simply have your team leader register the team at active.com (here) and make sure each member of your team selects your team name when they register.

Jerry Can Relay

In Sudan, fetching water is a daily chore, typically done by women and children. If they are lucky, the walk is only a few hundred meters, but for most, the trip is several kilometers.

Solo: one person carries the full jerry can (approx. 50lbs.) the entire 3.1 miles.

Team of 3: each team member carries the jerry can 1.033 miles.

Team of 5: each team member carries the jerry can .062 miles.

The Jerrry Can Relay will start before the Basic 5k and special prizes will be awarded to everyone who completes the challenge

Simply have your team leader register the team at active.com (here) and make sure each member of your team selects your team name when they register. If you have questions specific to the relay, please contact Darrell Taylor.
